The TRANSART Ensemble sees an alchemy between one of creative music’s most progressive thought-leaders – trombonist and composer Craig Harris alongside soulful jazz pianist, vocalist and composer Mala Waldron, progressive jazz bassist Christopher Dean Sullivan and legendary master-percussionist Baba Neil Clarke. The quartet brings a unique voice to the jazz idiom that marries a deeply-rooted foundation in the rhythms of the African diaspora with modern composition and an unparalleled improvisational prowess.

The ensemble is leading new initiatives for the Kingston-based organization TRANSART & cultural services by hosting the upcoming podcast THE SHED, as well as an upcoming 6-week youth summer music program in Poughkeepsie, JAZZ FUTURES, kicking off in June 2023.
